Which ‘80's sports car would you rather own between a Delorean, Buick Grand National, Porsche 928 GTS, Dodge Daytona Turbo Z, Fox Body ‘Stang, Nissan 300ZX, Lotus Esprit, and Mitsubishi Starion?

I had that as an option, then removed it in favor of the Turbo Z.

Of those it's definitely the Buick for me. Don't get me wrong, I love me some 928 but the Buick is just more my style.

Of the available options (harrumph) I would have picked the esprit, but I'd rather have a 90s one. I picked the Buick instead.

The Daytona Turbo Z. I’ve always had a soft spot 80's turbo Chrysler's.

Can I change the GN to a GNX? Because that. All day every day.

Delorean, but swap the engine with a modern v6.

Hmm, I’d say it depends on to much I hate myself that day. I love the Starion styling the most I think, and I always love British cars, but 928s are also pretty awesome and would be less likely to make me hate life.

obviously

but price difference between them too. a real Grand National is very expensive and rare.

My favourite is the Porsche, closely followed by the Lotus and Buick.

One out of the eight already down. Need them all, but pretty tough between GN and Espirt for first choice. I went with Esprit based on manual transmission.

Every one a retrofantastic choice. There’s no wrong answer. And of course there are other answers out there that could be better at whatever you pick one of these cars for, but you hardly need to go beyond this list to have a great time.

I want the Lotus, for the way the world looks from the driver’s seat.

The GN or the 300ZX, but in all honesty...

Kinja'd!!!

...I’ll just take an ‘87 RX-7 Turbo II.

I would go with the 928gts because it’s a good combo of style, possible appreciation potential, good to drive and being special.

All of these cars would only be a 2nd weekend car to me.

And I had a tough time picking between the grand national, the Porsche and the delorean.

I decided against the GN since its automatic only and I decided against the Deloean due to the performance being shit compared to the Porsche.

Defiantly the 928... almost bought one while living in Germany, but the ones I could actually afford and the ones I really wanted always seemed to be too far apart.

The GN’s aren’t terribly expensive, between $8k to $35k depending on condition. It’s the GNX’s that go for big bucks.

I already owned a Z31 300zx and i wouldn’t own another unless i have a very large amount of money to dispose of, those cars would require a lot of money to make them “right”.

I would take the Lotus Esprit, because out of all the ones on the list, that would be the one car i don’t see listed all that often. The 928 is close, but i’ve had many chances to buy one and i don’t think those chances will go away.

I’d take the Z. I had one once and I’d do it again. The nice ones are very nice.
